Types of faults in the electric heater and their solution

The electric water heater is cold to the hot water heater and, at the same time, an accumulator of the same inside. Its operation is as follows: cold water enters through the bottom of the thermos and is heated inside by means of an electrical resistance that can reach a temperature of about 60 degrees, depending on how the thermostat is regulated.

The electric water heater is an electronic device, and any failure, incident, water heater leaking, or breakdown that occurs in it directly affects our schedule.

When do breakdowns occur?

90% of the failures in the electric boiler are produced by an internal breakage of the mechanism or failures of some essential part of its activity. To avoid any breakage or breakdown, it is essential to carry out annual maintenance, and thus prevent deterioration of the internal structure of the thermos.

Types of faults in the electric heater

The breakdowns in the electric heater are very diverse, although there are four more frequent issue that is very common: water heater leaking, drains, resistances and noises.

Drains water leaks and noise are seemingly simple faults found in the tank or valve of the electric water heater, caused by excess lime or excess amount of water in it. On the other hand, the problems with resistance belong to the internal mechanism, and solving it is much more complex since it affects the direct operation of the thermos. To solve it, a professional will be necessary.

Steps to solve faults in the electric boiler

There are some simple breakdowns that the user himself can solve with a few small actions, but most of them are serious, and therefore, a professional should be contacted to proceed to solve them. For any manipulation of the electric boiler, you have to cut the electrical circuit and disconnect the boiler from the current.

1:- Go to the electrical panel and check which differential switch has tripped or therefore has cut off the light supply

2:-Disconnect all the small circuit breakers.

3:-Disconnect the electric boiler from the electrical current

4:-Depending on the type of failure, you can perform a manual adjustment to try to solve the problem. If the problem is not solved, contact a professional as this type of repair is very complex.

5:-If there are water leaks; it could be due to a simple fault. Unscrew the water inlet and apply Teflon to the area.

6:-If, there is a leak in the water drain valve, empty the water tank, and close it again.

7:-If you hear noises, check that there is no lime accumulated on the bottom of the tank on the heating electrodes or in the silt deposits.

8:-Reconnect the electric boiler, and then connect all the PIAs of the electrical panel to check if the fault has been solved.

Conclusion: suppose the fault is in the internal mechanism, then contact a professional to solve it. The manipulation of these devices is very complex, and any mistake can cause serious consequences both for the device, such as the electrical installation as well as the home or business.
